Facebook for Businesses

Facebook for Businesses

Facebook can be a great tool for promoting your business, large or small. With over 1.6 billion people worldwide connected to a small business through Facebook, there’s amazing potential for exposure and potential clients through this social media platform.

Fill out your profile If you’re familiar with Facebook for individuals, using the platform for businesses is very similar. You’ll want to fill out your business’ page with as much information as you can provide, in order to get your potential clients familiar with your products and culture. Make sure you provide as much contact information as possible, including phone number, email, and address. Potential clients will appreciate your openness, as well as being able to easily get in touch with you. It’s also a good idea to include a call to action on your page. Maybe you want your Facebook audience to try eating at your restaurant, or to call you for more information. Whatever it is, include it on your page!

Interact with your audience One of the most important things to keep in mind with social media is that it’s not a static platform. It’s designed to be interactive, and needs to be used as such. In fact, many Facebook users have reported that they expect a response within one hour. If you have a member of the public message you or leave a question on one of your posts, answer! Make it a point to check your business’ Facebook page every day, potentially more than once a day. You don’t need to spend too much time on the page every day, but it’s a good idea to quickly check for pending messages, and post any upcoming events while you’re there. Keep track of approximately when your audience is online, and try to post accordingly.

…but don’t overwhelm them! It’s essential to find a good balance between not posting at all and over-posting. Particularly if you’re a small business, don’t feel as though you need to post multiple times per day. In fact, small companies who post more than sixty times per month receive far fewer interactions with their customers, likely because their followers feel overwhelmed by the amount of posts.

In short, Facebook can be a great tool for promoting your business. Use it strategically, get to know your audience, learn to balance your interactions, and you’ll be on your way to effective business promotion! Contact us now!
